Making a VO Script Your Own (a post by Laila Berzins)

Laila Berzins is an up and coming voice actor who recently made the leap and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career. She has some fabulous advice here in this blog post about how to look at a script, then think and do to make it your own.

We have talked a lot about breaking down a piece of commercial copy and trying to figure out what sort of approach we should be taking and who the audience is. Here is a short quote from her post…

When reading a commercial spec in which multiple actor references are attached as direction, it’s usually less about sounding like a specific actor, and more about what those actors have in common. What aspects of their personality shine through the most?
